Getting to know Dil

DilI’m the dil, or daughter-in-law, in our equation.

My name is Shannon, but I’ll go by Dil for most of what I do for Mil & Dil, just to keep it simple.  I am currently working on my Ph.D. at Northern Illinois University in Geography (emphasis in Biogeography).  I enjoy teaching, as it is ultimately a very rewarding challenge, but for now – after 5 years of teaching – I am a research assistant. Outside of my scientific academic life, I love exploring my crafty side!

Our wedding

I became Lindsey’s daughter-in-law in 2008, when she married us in an oak grove overlooking a prairie conservation on a beautiful, slightly windy, Saturday afternoon.

Since then, as the years go by, I feel blessed to have landed such supportive, kind, and fun-loving in-laws.  I am excited about this new adventure we’ve begun here by launching MilandDil. So far, our ideas for handmade button jewelry has gotten such great responses from people!  I am enthusiastically looking forward to rejuvenating my creative side, which will be refreshing for me – having been immersed for so long in only my scientific side while working on my degrees.

DilThanks for reading my bio and I hope you stop by our shop and explore all we have to offer!  Enjoy it, I know we are!
